# Quickstart

> Create your organization, connect an AI provider and send your first message.

## Overview

The first time you sign in, Wirebase walks you through a short setup. Here is what it covers:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your account">
    Sign up with your email address and a password, or continue with Google.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add an API key">
    Connect at least one AI provider so your organization has models to chat with.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite your team">
    Optional: invite teammates by email. You can do this at any time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send your first message">
    Pick a model and start chatting.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  **Estimated time:** about 5 minutes, most of it spent getting an API key from your provider.
</Tip>

## Step 1: Create your account

Go to [wirebase.com](https://www.wirebase.com) and click **Start free**. When you sign up, Wirebase creates an organization for you. Your organization owns everything you set up: API keys, enabled models, agents, workflows, connectors and knowledge bases.

<Note>
  If a teammate has already invited you, open the link in your invitation email instead. You'll join their organization rather than creating a new one.
</Note>

## Step 2: Add an API key

Wirebase does not resell model access. Your organization adds its own provider keys, and every member chats with the models those keys unlock.

In the setup dialog, under **Add your first API key**:

1. Choose a provider: **OpenAI**, **Anthropic**, **Google**, **Groq** or **OpenRouter**.
2. Paste your key. Wirebase checks it with the provider before saving it.
3. The provider's default models are switched on for your organization.

<Tip>
  Don't have a key? Click **Get a free one**. Some providers, such as Google and Groq, offer free tiers. With OpenRouter you can click **Connect** and authorize Wirebase to create a key for you, without copying and pasting.
</Tip>

You can add more providers later in **Admin → API Keys**. See [Add an API key](/docs/user-guide/get-started/add-api-key).

## Step 3: Invite your team

Enter teammates' email addresses separated by commas. Each person gets an email invitation and joins as a **member**. Admins can change roles later in **Admin → Users**. See [Members and roles](/docs/admin-guide/people/members-and-roles).

## Step 4: Send your first message

Pick a starter prompt, or open a new chat and type anything. Use the model selector next to the message box to switch models at any time.

<Check>
  You're set up. From here, try typing `@` in the message box to see the agents, workflows and tools you can call.
</Check>
