# Agents

> Purpose-built assistants with their own instructions and tools, invoked with an @mention.

## Overview

An agent is an assistant set up for one job: a research analyst, a support writer, a SQL helper. It has its own instructions and a fixed set of tools, so it behaves the same way every time anyone uses it.

Find agents under **Workspace → Agents**. **My Agents** lists yours; **Org Agents** lists agents teammates have shared.

## Create an agent

Click **Create Agent**. You can fill in the form yourself, or click **Generate with AI**, describe what you want in a sentence or two, and let Wirebase draft it for you.

| Field | What to enter |
| - | - |
| **Name and icon** | A short name. This is what people type after `@`. |
| **Description** | What the agent does. Shown in lists and the mention menu. |
| **This agent is an expert in…** | The agent's role, for example "stock analysis". |
| **Instructions** | The agent's role, personality, guidelines and knowledge. This is its system prompt. |
| **Tools** | Tools the agent can use: built-in tools, connector tools, workflows and knowledge bases. |

Click **Save**.

<Tip>
  Write instructions the way you'd brief a new colleague: who the audience is, what a good answer looks like, and what to do when information is missing. See [Best practices](/docs/user-guide/get-started/best-practices).
</Tip>

## Use an agent

In any chat, type `@` and pick the agent, then write your request. The agent answers with its own instructions and tools. You can bookmark agents you use often from the agents list.

## Share an agent

Set **Visibility** on the agent:

| Visibility | Who can use it | Who can edit it |
| - | - | - |
| **Private** | Only you | Only you |
| **Read Only** | Everyone in your organization | Only you |
| **Public** | Everyone in your organization | Everyone in your organization |

Shared agents appear under **Org Agents** for your teammates.

## Put an agent on your website

On the Team plan and above, any saved agent can be published to your website as a chat bubble. Visitors chat without signing in, and the agent answers from its knowledge bases. See [Website widget](/docs/developer-guide/website-widget).
