# Automations

> Run a prompt or workflow on a schedule and collect the results.

## Overview

An automation runs a prompt or a workflow on a schedule, for example a daily news digest, a weekly metrics summary or an hourly check on a connector. Every run's result is saved so you can read it later or continue it in chat.

Find automations under **Workspace → Automations**.

## Create an automation

Click **New Automation**, then set:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name">
    For example, "Daily news digest".
  </Step>

  <Step title="Schedule">
    Choose **Once**, **Hourly**, **Daily**, **Weekly** or **Monthly**, then the time (or minute, for hourly), the day where relevant, and your **Timezone**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Action">
    Choose what runs:

    * **Prompt**: write what the AI should do on each run, and pick a **Model**. Optionally pick an **Agent** to run it with that agent's instructions and tools.
    * **Workflow**: pick a published workflow and fill in its **Workflow inputs** (or **Edit as JSON**).
  </Step>
</Steps>

Click **Run Now** to try it immediately. A run can take a few minutes.

## Results

Open an automation and go to **Results** to see each run, with the tools it called and any structured output. From a result you can **Copy** it, **Run again**, or **Continue in chat**. **Activity** shows every run across all your automations.

## Pause, resume and failures

* **Pause** stops an automation without deleting it. **Resume** puts it back on schedule.
* An automation that fails three times in a row is turned off. Resuming it clears the failure count.
* If the agent or workflow it runs is deleted, choose a new target to start it again.
* A **Once** automation finishes after its run. Pick a new date to schedule it again.

## Plan limits

| Plan | Automations | Most frequent schedule |
| - | - | - |
| Free | 2 | Daily |
| Team | 20 | Hourly |
| Enterprise | 100 | Hourly |
