## Overview

A knowledge base is a searchable collection of your documents. When you mention one in chat, or attach it to an agent or project, the assistant searches it for relevant passages and cites them in its answer.

Find knowledge bases under **Workspace → Knowledge**.

<Note>
  Knowledge bases use embeddings, which need an **OpenAI** or **OpenRouter** key in your organization. Ask an admin to add one if you can't create a knowledge base.
</Note>
